What is Process?
A description in the manner in which a change in state occurs.

What is Isobaric process?
Any process in which the pressure of a gas remains constant

What is Isochoric process?
Any process in which the volume of a gas remains constant

What is Isothermal process?
Any process in which the temperature of a gas remains constant

What is Adiabatic?
The expansion or compression of a gas without a gain or loss of heat.

What is a steady flow process?
Steady flow means that the rates of flow of mass and energy across the control surface are constant.

What is the term source and sink?
Source is a thermal reservoir, which supplies heat to the system and sink is a thermal reservoir, which takes the heat from the system.

What is homogeneous and heterogeneous system?
The system consist of single phase is called homogeneous system and the system consist of more than one phase is called heterogeneous system.

What is reversible process in thermodynamics?
 A process which is carried out infinitesimally slowly so that changes occurring in the direct process can be exactly reversed without disturbing the equilibrium.

 A process in which both the system and its environment can be returned to exactly the states they were in before the process occurred.

A reversible process is one, which is performed in such a way that at the conclusion of process, both system and surroundings may be restored to their initial state, without producing any changes in rest of the universe.

What is Pressure-volume (PV) diagram?
A graph of pressure vs. volume which gives an indication of the work done by or on a system, and the energy transferred during a process


What is the irreversible process?
The mixing of two substances and combustion also leads to irreversibility. All spontaneous process is irreversible.
