Power input into the motor compressor is obtained by the following formula:

Power Pcomp =M x (h2 - h1)

Power Pcomp = Power input into the motor compressor

M = The mass flow rate of the refrigerant

h1 = Enthalpy at inlet to the process,

h2 = Enthalpy at outlet to the process,
